Having operated the KX161 for various construction projects, I can attest to its reliable engine performance and ease of control. The machine's compact size allowed for maneuvering in tight spaces, a significant advantage. On the downside, I found the operator's seat lacked sufficient padding for extended use. Despite this, routine maintenance was hassle-free, and the machine rarely had unexpected downtimes. It's a dependable choice for those in construction and landscaping.

Been using the KX161 on the farm shared with my uncle, bit rough around the edges these days but still mostly gets stuff done. The manual quick hitch is simple, saves time when swapping buckets, even if it's not as slick as modern hydraulic hitches. Changed plenty of hydraulic hoses over the years, and had to get a new exhaust after it snapped off (again), so you get used to little fixes. Not exactly comfy to work in when it's minus 7 outside-the heater couldn't keep up if it tried. But it ain't hard to drive, easy to get the hang of, and parts aren't a nightmare to get hold of. Nothing fancy, no fancy electronics or anything that'll break. Just needs regular maintenance and a bit of patience if you're not keen on fiddling about with old bolts in the freezing cold. Used to have big plans to set up my own business with it, but now it's just handy for knocking around the farms when something needs moving or digging. Wouldn't call it perfect, but it's still reliable most days.

I've used the Kubota KX161 model extensively and found it performs admirably for tasks like trench digging and landscape work. The manual controls are intuitive and smooth. However, I did notice that the undersized bucket struggled with large volume operations. Maintenance has been straightforward, although occasionally sourcing specific parts was a challenge. If you're looking for reliability and consistency, it's a solid machine for mid-scale tasks.
